How you can build your own VR headset for $100

Seems like a cool proof-of-concept for an open methods and approach I appreciate. I'll bet the fab down at the Belt & Bracers could kick one of these out, more or less. (<3 Doctorow's /Walkaway/).

I don't mean to belittle the young techies' ingenuity and efforts but you can get a Samsung Gear for US$60 from Groupon

The tech is getting cheaper and cheaper.

I would not strap a cell phone to my head so that it becomes an antennae :(

Research into the possible epigenetic ( relating to or arising from nongenetic influences on gene expression) damage to cells has me questioning the safety.

Goodwill / Thrift sores are overflowing with phone based VR headsets. I picked up a GearVR2 for $10, worth it just for the optics.
