Hi, looking to become a model in the game, don't care what kind.

Making this post to see where and what I need to start.

Is there a place where I can go to ask and see if I'm fit to becoming a model?

I looked up on the search but I found nothing really, so that's why I'm asking here.

If anyone knows then please let me know!

We had a similar question in the Your Avatar section recently. Some of the advice in that thread may be of use to you:

Oh so what I learned from this is that I would most likely need to start a blog or have a flickr account huh?

I wasn't really interested in blogging but I am interested in flickr, that is where you just take photos of yourself and post them for people to see right?

Yes, and there's a very large Second Life community on Flickr. Styling your avatar and taking interesting photos of it will give you a good introduction to the SL fashion community in general. If you go the styling route, a lot of people will appreciate a credits list of what you're wearing, which you can type under the Flickr image. You can also add your photos to the Flickr groups of stores whose items you're wearing, as well as the many SL fashion and avatar groups that are there.

We have two big 'show off your avatar style' threads here on the forum, if you want to join in with those:

Apart from what has already been mentioned in the above thread, you will need lots of patience and a willingness to learn photography in SL.  A cynical attitude helps, as you will get lots of "profesional" photographers contacting you promising to offer shoots and then never contact you again, or waste your time arranging shoots then making excuses when you turn up. Best to decide what sort of modelling you want to do, then start taking lots of selfies, trash anything you find less than perfect and put what's left on flickr. Adopt a professional attitude to making good pics, but remember to treat the whole thing as a hobby, and never take yourself too seriously.

Why do you want to be a model? Is it to make lindens? You can easily make the cash to buy lindens much more effectively than trying to make them modeling. I don’t even mean just work more irl. You could sell some stuff you don’t use, donate blood or sperm or eggs, pick up an odd job on Craigslist. Time is money. You have the ask yourself if you want to put in serious hours for what amounts to few real life dollars.

There's big money to be made in modeling in Second Life... as the owner of a modeling school. Avatars pay big bucks to learn how to be a fashion model.

Lesson number one, max out your height slider, because doncha know even in RL all supermodels are 8 ft tall.

After spending only thousands of lindens you too can be a fashionista, a runway model, adored by all the lowly avatars (like myself) that secretly snicker at you every time they see you.

And,  I speak from experience, one of my SL sisters constantly implores me to lift myself from the muck of the common herd to join her at the peak of fashion model perfection.

You work in SL because... you are in SL while you work.

I escort whenever I get the chance, not because I need the money, I buy all the Lindens I need, but because I like getting paid for doing something I enjoy and would do anyway.

If I make enough money to cover my rent, then that's a bonus, but its not why I do it.

What girl doesn't want to be a model? because being a model is so glamorous, but most of us have no hope in RL, we come to SL see we have hope here and want to pursue that dream. The problem is that here, every girl can be a model so the competition is fierce.

This girl :D

Me too. I'm much happier just being me instead of some one else's version of perfection.

One time  I had a guy tell me oh you look amazing, I must photograph you for a layout.

When I showed up, first thing he said was "lose the bunny ears"

Umm no, byeeeeee

Being a model doesn’t look glamourous at all to me. To have your value be reduced to your age and looks? No thanks.

There was a time when I could doll myself up enough to induce some of that reduction. It was fun to lure someone in and then show unexpected intelligence. It's a risky game to play, though. There are people out there as nefarious as me, but much smarter.
