I just don't like them

That's kind of the big issue there and the hardest for anyone else to give advice about.

Details!  Exactly which head are you currently using?  Do you have any others in inventory?

What do you like?  Google up a few pictures of real life people and link them for us.  if you can 3 to 5 different people you like it would help a ton.

Really it all comes down to your shape. Buying a shape isn’t really going to help you unless you do and use exactly what the original shape maker did. Even then, change your eyeliner or lipstick and you’ll look waaay different.

Doing a head has a steep learning curve. When you’re starting out it’s going to be very frustrating. Change something too much or not enough and you end up looking crazy. So here’s what you do. First take all your makeup, hairbase, nose rings, etc out.

Become a recluse for a couple days. I’m serious, lock yourself in your house or go to a quiet sandbox. Day one you’re going to spend some time getting the feel for the sliders. You’re not expecting perfection, you’re just going to build toward where you want. Certain sliders: head size, ears, etc are pretty self explanatory you’ll only have to mess with them once or twice. Other sliders: eyes, nose, jaw, cheeks, mouth, lips are the ones that are going to need fine tuning. This is why you’re going to need multiple days to do this. Chin and jowls don’t work, so you don’t need to worry about them.

start with the eyes and nose. Do extreme stuff, really play with it. You’re doing this because every head is different and you need to see where the limits for the head are. Even a newer catwa is different from an older one as far as what you can do with them. The newer ones have larger eyes. Day one though concentrate on eyes and nose. Pan all around the head, zoom in and out get a really good look after every change. When you get it how you want it, generally, log off. Seriously...log off and go do something else.

Day 2. Hopefully you didn’t try to do everything all at once. And you gave yourself a rest. Since you’ve given yourself a rest you’re going to notice little things you didn’t notice the other day. Go back and tweak those, hopefully they’re little adjustments. Now, mouth and jaws today.  You’re going to play around again, make your lips really big, make them really thin, give yourself a square lantern jaw, give yourself a delicate jaw....play! Now go back and put it how you want it.

At this point, you might notice your eyes and nose aren’t what you thought you liked. That’s ok, from here on out you’re going to be switching back and forth tweaking them all...small adjustments. Now log off again.

Day three. You should have a head shape that’s pretty acceptable to you. Now put your hairbase on and your makeup. You’re going to look different again. From here you should look like someone you’re happy with. But from here you’re going to try all of those skins and makeups and see what they change.

You aren’t done, but you’re going to be spending less time tweaking things. The next time you get a head or change your skin, you should be able to do this a little faster.

Good luck!

man...I typed all that for nothing?!

This is why my standard avatar Neko-human hybrid face looks like it does. For the last 8 years or so lol.
