Question
Darena Bryant
I've been trying to use this for literal years and there have been no real changes in the difficulty of finding an item on the marketplace.
For example, I was recently looking for a mesh body made by a company named 'Belleza'. So typing in 'Belleza mesh body' should turn it up, right? Nope. instead I get everything with that name located anywhere in the description, no matter how obscure. Over 1000+ hits. So I try the various boolean tricks to get some slightly smaller results. 950+ hits. So then I try adding the specific name of the mesh body to the list, which is Venus. No change.
How is it being allowed in the marketplace that random vendors can put the name of another more successful company's product in their descriptons and that item shows up MORE READILY than the actual successful product? All of these things using Belleza's name are made FOR that product... to be used only on that product, in some cases... and yet you can't FIND that product to buy it and make use of all the stuff obscuring it! It's sincerely maddening, and far more commonplace than anything else on the marketplace outside of dozens of the same item coming up when you do a search.
When... if ever... are changes to the search and filing systems built into the marketplace going to be implemented? I would really like to be able to search for things I want, and to be able to only have things show up that I'm looking for (today I searched for 'shorts'. I got several hits for boots. BOOTS!). Please, PLEASE do something about this. The makretplace has become an almost unnavigable mess because of things like this, and it's been years since anyone has tried to address it. One suggestion that I think would help immensely: if someone is making a product that is meant to be used with another one (like clothes or textures for a mesh body) and want to use that item's name in their description, require them to also include a marketplace link to the item or items in question that said product is made for. For example, if someone makes pants for the Belleza mesh body, and wants to put 'Belleza' in the description of their product, they ALSO *must* include a link to the actual Belleza mesh body in their description, or they are given the ability to add a link in the 'Related items' section that directs people to the products their product is made to work with. if the item is not located on the marketplace, then they MUST provide some link that will lead the shopper to an inworld location where the item can be purchased. This will remove a LOT of the confusion of rooting out the specific item that is the base one you need to use the others. It makes no sense that there are all these items listed than are made to work with a specific item that is either unavailable on the marketplace, or so buried under things people have made to work with it that it's literally impossible to find.
