I can not log on secondlife, there is an error application that keeps popping up. can somebody help

I keep having an application error when I try to log on it states this: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click ok to close the application. How can I log on please help.

The 0xc0150002 error may be caused by windows registry damage. You could try to run a Registry cleaner or use systems restore.

You may have other options, give this question some time to generate answers from other Residents.

If the error number had been (0xc0000142)  then the fix would be:

Delete winmm.dll

On my computer (windows 7)  it is located : C: \ Program Files (x86) \ SecondLifeViewer2 \ llplugin \ winmm.dll

But I haven`t seen the number you have before, you could try the same fix and let us know if it works

On my computer it is in the location I posted, depending which OS you have it will be similar. The same file exists in your system32 folder so it won`t do any harm to delete a 2nd copy of it....Don`t delete the one in system32 obviously

My pc has a registry cleaner that was included in the software I purchased. You can download a registry cleaner for free but you should look in your programs to see if you already have one. I use Easy Remover, systems in my firewall, spybot ect.

Thats the one you want to leave alone...delete the one in C: \ Program Files (x86) \ SecondLifeViewer2 \ llplugin \ winmm.dll

I just deleted the program but I need to install it.

Reinstall and if you get the same error then delete that file and try logging in again.

Many some of the fixes I've been reading point towards using Systems Restore. If you don't have any new important data on your machine you could consider that option.

Trying to find the secondlife folder, but I am using phoenix viewer; does that help any?

If your using an older Operating System, that could be the problem.

Snodge reported solving the 0xc0150002 issue for him by installing Apple Quicktime so you could try that and if you already have it installed, install the latest version.
