I did search throughout the Forums (as well as the Blogs, Knowledge Base, etc) and all I can find is the Grid Status page, which states that the problems with the Land Auctions are resolved. Yet just a few minutes ago, I signed in (a couple of minutes before the auction was to take place, at noon SL time)---yet was unable to submit a bid. The error message said that I had timed out.

Is anyone else experiencing this? (I realize that only a fraction of SL users sign into the Auctions, but maybe I'll get lucky and someone will know something about this.)

If the times have been reset to some new parameters, then I'm hoping we'll be told what those parameters are! (For example, it used to be possible to sign in anywhere from a half hour early to just a few seconds before the auctions, without triggering any 'you have timed out' messages. Similarly, it used to be possible to bid all the way up the the last few seconds.

Maybe the Lindens in charge decided to change those times. Maybe you now must sign in within some set window of time, and bid within a set window of time---if so, it would be wonderful to know in advance what those windows are.

I am having the same problem. I have bid on auctions for over 10 years and never had an issue.

When I try to bid (I use Chrome)I get the message "For security purposes, your session has timed out due to inactivity. Please log in again. I also get this message on my Android phone.

I contacted LL and they said to clear my cache. I did that and remove all cookies.

Nothing has helped, I guess at least I know I'm not alone. Hoping that someone has an answer.

First I'd try another browser.  Then, as a Premium member, I'd use Live Chat because they will stay in the chat working with you until it is resolved - or until they need to maybe contact a more technical resource.

Start Live Chat:  https://support.secondlife.com/start-chat/
Live Chat is available 5am to 3pm PST every day.

I call it the 'Curse of non-standard browser interfaces'.  I have a variety of things that will only work right on Firefox, a few that only work right in Chrome, and another batch that will only work correctly in IE.  It all drives me crazy - though luckily most websites will work correctly across multiple browsers.
