Do I have to redown load in order to log back on second life and lose all of my L$

Go to your dashboard and on the left side in the Account section you will see "Transaction History" this will tell you your correct account balance and stays there regardless of what viewer (if any) you have installed on your computer.

Please explain why you cannot login, what error message are you getting?

You can reply by using "Comments" or by using Options > Edit to add more info to your original post, you do not need to start another thread.

It's not clear what your problem is. Please explain exactly what's happening. Also post your computer specifications. Open SL to login screen, select Help > About Second Life and copy/paste the details into a reply here (use Comments). You will not lose Lindens or Inventory by uninstalling and reinstalling the viewer. All these are stored on Linden Lab's server and not your computer.
