Question

So, somehow my 2 year old managed to mash enough hot keys to royally mess up my viewers. In both SL viewer and firestorm, the vertical length of the viewer screen seems to be too large for my computer screen... as well as my pointer is about an eighth of an inch off of where it actually is. I have tried every graphics/interface option I can find. I have tried changing the rez of both my computer and the viewer.... I have tried changing the skins on firestorm and adjusted almost every slider imaginable.

I really want to keep playing on SL... but without fixing this... I'm not sure I'll be able to!! Please please please help!!!

If both viewers are affected, then it sounds as if the problem is the aspect ratio of your monitor. Your enterprising child may have  done something like hitting F4 which, on my laptop, changes the screen resolution when it sends the image to an external projector.  Try that yourself and see if you get a simple menu of display options.  If that's not it, right click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution".  You should get a menu of options there for setting the pixel dimensions of your screen.  Maybe one of those is what you want.

I did all those things and it didn't change it. I however just did a clean restart again... and it was fixed, but in full screen mode. So, thinking I had fixed it, I removed full screen mode..... and now.... it's back to the same issue. Even when I change it back to full screen mode, it still is off.

Edit: I have not gotten it corrected while in full screen. If anyone has an idea how to get it fixed while NOT in full screen mode, I'd appreciate it

The 2 year old is off the hook  lol.

It's pretty certain you have this problem: BUG-100858 - Latest Intel graphics driver 21.20.16.4678 causes viewer screen to be too large, top menu bar missing & click area ~1cm too low
Full screen mode is the workaround.
If you can update your system to the latest Intel graphics driver, the bug will be fixed - it's a bug in certain Intel graphics drivers.

Do you have an HP laptop? Or another btand of laptop with locked OEM drivers?  If so, you won't yet be able to update to the driver version with the bug fix.
In the top menu bar of the viewer, go to Help -> About Firestorm, click the "Copy To Clipboard" button & paste all your system information into a comment here.

I am curious about the performance you get with the i7-7500 and HD 620?

What graphics setting do you use? The Low-Ultra setting is close enough.

What draw distance?

Thanks, in advance. :)

Also, posting the HELP information with any tech question makes it WAY easier to pinpoint known problems with drivers.
