I bought the "Maitreya Mesh Body Lara" but the 10 included skin colors dont match my old none mesh head. I spend weeks to get my face to look right so I dont want to make any changes to my head. Sadly my  "MyDear Fiona Skin -- Sunkiss" doesnt have an applier and the whole Skin Shop "MyDear" seems to have no appliers for any of their skins in general. I already spend well over 3hours looking for a similar new skin to buy but I couldnt even find one that even looked half as good as my old one on my face. Plus I am 100% satisfied with my old skin anyway. Is there any way to match my maitreya mesh body color to the color of my head (if my skin doesnt come with an applier)? Maybe a third party applier exists that can apply any skin color to the mesh body?

Otherwise do I have any other options besides praying to somehow find a similar skin like my old one, customizing a whole new face or buying a new mesh head?

The easiest method (and many of us have been there) is to get a COLLAR style necklace that covers the seam. One that is color change and smallish might be good. Other than that you need to find a skin that you like that ALSO has an applier.

You can TRY and tint the Lara skin so that it is close to your head -- and you should do that of course) but you will never get an even close to exact match using the tints. It will change dramatically depending on Windlight and viewer settings.

So collar and keep your old head or start shopping for a new skin.

I didn't see Fiona on MP but judging from the other skins listed you might like the skins at Lumae, WoW Skins, 7 Deadly Skins or Dulce Secrets. I believe all still offer full system skins and have body appliers (may require separate purchase). Just be sure to pay attention to the description and logos on the ads and always demo demo demo.

On a positive note, getting a new skin now which will more than likely have head appliers will save you in the future if you ever do decide to get a mesh head.

Clover is correct on those listed stores - they all still sell system skins and appliers for specific bodies and/or Omega for the body.  The appliers are normally sold in a pack of all colors for the body type - i.e. all skin tones for Mairtreya - and the pack costs roughly L$300, give or take a bit.

Side note - the appliers are often NOT easy to find and not necessarily located next to the system skin itself, so you might have to search a bit.

My old system skin - which was 'ME' - was created by someone that left SL long ago and so there was no matching applier.  I finally resigned myself to the fact that I had to get a new skin.  I then sample literally hundreds of skins - every stores tones are a bit different and nothing even came really close to my existing tone.  It is a major PITA, but once done, is done.  TP to all the various stores and grab demos and plan to spend lots of time with it.  It is what it is.

The MyDear skins look very similar to LAQ skins, which are not available on Marketplace and now are on sale at a price of L$100 per fatpack.

LAQ is an older brand and you'll find more variety in face features than many skin makers who specialize in mesh heads, so you may find a skin that looks very similar to your current one.

First of all thank you very much for your replies.

I spend another 3hours looking around the mentioned skin shops. However, no matter which skin I try it changes my whole face makeup: lips, eyes, etc. I made my face several years ago and can only remember it took 3 weeks of several hours each day to finish. So I really dont want to do that again. Each new skin forces me to do all face makeup all over again? Do I understand that right? Nothing of my worn inventory changes expect the skin but the whole face makeup instantly looks drastically different, sometimes introducing colors I never even used. If that is the case and I have to calculate with weeks to match back to my old face makeup then my decision is very easy and I will stop looking for skins altogether. Would go for a collar necklace or try this body color tinting then.

@ Morgan Rosenstar: Where would you suggest me to find such a very pale skin applier?

What I did is that first in the Maitreya HUD I chose the skin tone which had the closest colour to my system head skin. Then I just started playing with tinting in the Maitreya HUD. Just gradually changing a bit by bit until I got a reasonable overall match. In many lighting conditions it looks quite ok, with a slight seam visible when looking at close distance. At two meters or more distance no seam is visible at all. However in some, especially in coloured local lights, the seam can be more clearly visible.

Anyway, I'm quite satisfied with the result. Slight seam on the neck, often barely visible or not visible at all, does not bother me much. And I'm often very picky how my avatar looks. :ph34r:xD

By the way, even if you use exactly the same skin on the mesh body and system head the seam might come visible in some lighting conditions. It's because the light behaves differently on the mesh body and on the system head. So, an exact match in all lighting conditions can be only obtained by using mesh head with mesh body, both having the same skin.

Just use the skin that is closest to yours if you wanna keep your system head. If someone is going to cam you that hard to see the seam, the heck with them or do as others have mentioned and wear a collar of some kind to hide it if you feel you need to. This is your SL and you are the one that needs to be happy with yourself hun so just go for it!!

Maybe everyone knows this already, but the Lara presets are for Glam Affair skins.

In order, they're: Pearl, Artic, Europa, Asia, America, Jamaica, Exotic, India, Tropic and Africa

Agree with you. I had no problem matching the Maitreya body to my non-mesh head with Glam Affair skin. It was a seamless match. They do have appliers at the Glam Affair store. Not sure how much I paid, but was very happy with the results.
