Because Linden Lab does not accept prepaid cards of any kind.  If you have been using a prepaid card that you registered before the credit processor changed, over a year ago, you have been living on borrowed time.  If you have replaced or updated that card, you are now under the current rules.  You must use an approved credit card (not a debit card) or a verified PayPal or Skrill account.
