Well Done Linden Lab (NOT)

The first indication of Main Server restart activity on the Status page is when the day shift start - the announcement barely one hour before the roll was completed!  Really, that is a long way from adequate.  Was there REALLY no-one available to update the status page?

Caleb managed to post the details that were available here so why no update to the Status Page?  Were you all logged into Sansar?

@ Phil Deakins,

To me personally not a lot, since I always check this thread, though Caleb is not as reliable as would be ideal.  However the announcement on the GSP is usually made before I go to bed RL on Monday night, since I am in the UK, that gives me reasonable confidence that my home will or will not roll the next SL day, Tuesday.

My point is that a lot of my SL friends and acquaintances only check the GSP  (and that only after I chivvied them a bit) and regularly whinge that they had no idea whether or not a Roll was going to occur (I know, it is their fault for not being informed but that's what happens).  The GSP is supposed to be a source of upcoming info so residents know what is likely to happen on the next day, and telling us that the roll is happening 4 hours after it starts doesn't quite do it for me.

I used to plan and organise events, but that I no longer have to do thankfully, so advance warning is no longer so important.

@Whirly

Are you calling me a drama monger??  Moi?  Surely not! ;)

*offers a clean hanky to Caleb*  "There...Blow!"

I rarely have to complain about Caleb, he is at worst a bit late in posting, but that can happen for any number of perfectly good reasons.

My whinge was about the benighted souls who are supposed to operate the Grid Status Page, who simply did not do their jobs.
