Group Liability... ????

Whats the point of this group liability... we pay 90L a week, for just having a 1/4 commercial sim. Our land is deeded to our group, but even then why do we get dinged for liability fee????

Group liability charge is for having a parcel show up in search at the amount of 30L per week per parcel. If you are not the owner of the land and just a person in the group then you should contact the group owner and ask them to check the settings in their group roles and make sure that the default on the "Everyone" role "Pay group liabilities" is not checked.

Because your group owns 3 parcels that are set up to show in search. You can go to the group profile and look at the land tab and you will see the all the parcels owned by the group listed.

That makes no sense.

If the group owner is paying 30L a week to have their land show up in search and the land is associated with a group, what exactly does the group liability pay for, and why should group members pay that, when they make nothing from the group?

If the parcel is owned by the group and the group owner has not checked off the default "pay liabilities" from the "Everyone" role then the 30L is divided evenly between all group members. No I do not believe group members should pay for this, and should not be the default when creating a group. There has been plenty of debate about this issue already so I will not go on further. Simply contact the group owner and aske them to change the default setting on the group role. Most group owners are not even aware that this is the deafult.

The owners of the group can turn that off.So just feel they should share the cost,some have no clue how to run a group.talk to the group owner to solve it.

If the group members are being charged 90L a week each, then that is for more than just a couple of land searches. Are there classified ads being charged too or did you mean that the total is 90L and you are all paying a share of that each week?

Either way the Group owner may not realise that members are being charged, get them to switch off the charges for all the roles except the Owner role.
