If it weren't so, you would be colliding with yourself and your clothing all the time, and the SL physics engine would go absolutely nuts. You'll find some of those that make animations make them in various versions; small, medium, and large or variations of this idea. Also, there is the problem of avatar proportions. If the body is tall or short and arms short or long, no animation is going to look right. So, you have to get your shape set to correct proportions and get the animation that fits. Akasha has her hands in her pockets alot - THAT IS ALL!!!!! even if there are no pockets- but that´s how it is!!! (and I went for an AO which is relatively harmless on that but still ... meh I kinda got used to it but then I didn´t so... HANDS ! IN !
