yes.. as said, thats normal unless your use very precise made animations ... but every change in size or position of your body will make the animations clip your bodyparts again.

@NikleeJ It's "normal" because your avatar body is designed to be phantom to itself and any of its own attachments. If it weren't so, you would be colliding with yourself and your clothing all the time, and the SL physics engine would go absolutely nuts.  This is the only way to maintain anything like sanity in the world.  :)

Animations in SL do not scale with the avatar. You'll find some of those that make animations make them in various versions; small, medium, and large or variations of this idea.

Also, there is the problem of avatar proportions. If the body is tall or short and arms short or long, no animation is going to look right. So, you have to get your shape set to correct proportions and get the animation that fits.
