My system head spins to back when attaching HUDs

When attaching a HUD (for example, the HUD to select hair colors), my system head spins to face backwards. I have to relog in order to get it to face forward again. Any ideas why this is happening, and what I can do to prevent it?

I am a little confused with your description of what happens.  You attach a hud to your screen not your avatar directly so I don't understand how this action could cause your system head to rotate backwards.  But I suppose anything is possible.  I don't know what viewer you are using, but if it is Firestorm there is a place to reset your avatar.. in the top menu row, pick avatar, then scroll down to avatar health, and click reset default female or male character test.  This will give you your avatar as it was originally, you will have to add shape, skin etc again to make it look like you want but it should correct any issues with the avatar.  Or if you don't wanna do that, you might try the undeform option in the same menu next time the head goes around, or even try the stop animations option, before you relog.. You may not have to.  If you use the SL viewer I am not sure what they have available under ME tab might be something similar.
