Question

Firestorm always crashes when typing characters with tilde (for example: á, é) in chat.
I'm using a linux distribution (Arch Linux) with the following characteristics:

Kernel:
Linux 4.12.4-1-ARCH x86_64 GNU / Linux.

Video:
3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF117M (rev a1) [GeForce 610M / 710M / 810M / 820M / GT 620M / 625M / 630M / 720M]
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. GeForce 820M
Kernel driver in use: nvidia

And this is the error message in the terminal:

"The program 'do-not-directly-run-firestorm-bin' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 833 error_code 2 request_code 101 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
That is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
Option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
Backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error () function.) "

I have the following libraries installed:

apr-util dbus-glib glu gtk2 libgl libidn libjpeg-turbo libpng libxml2 desktop nss openal pangox-compat sdl zlib

Thanks in advance.

I'm unable to reproduce this on Windows on Firestorm & my friend tested on Mac & didn't crash.
Still waiting for someone else to test on a Linux system.

Can you please file a JIRA issue reporting this crash & include your viewer logs from a session where you reproduce the crash.

Thanks!

I use Linux, (yes it's an ubuntu system because I'm lazy) but for me using the éèàêîôûâäëüïö signs is not a problem, is there a way for you to send us your firestorm.log after crashing?  That way we can see what goes wrong.  Well, the people smarter then I can see it.

Done.

I also added an image there, with the keys that I pressed to enter a character with tilde, here:
