I like to think I am not a newbie on Sl, been here for years.

Since I started with this ava I like to take pictures, post them here, and feel sad when I see

other pictures people make on SL. Mine are no good compared,

Look in the mysecondlife feed, look at picture of the week/month... I know some are done with

photoshop but still...

I really tried to find anything about this I can use.... but Windlight?

Please explain how to use it, or even where to find it.

Like I said, I feel dumb I don't seem to get that. I press World->Environment Editor

Sorry about the many I's

Actually, you have two concerns at once ... the first one generally inquiring what WL is, the second where you find presets or make your own.

Luckily, most tutorials cover both parts. For example:

http://juicybomb.com/2010/04/22/gogos-updated-windlight-tutorial/

And SL's own Wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/WindLight_settings

Third party viewers, especially Firestorm, may come with preinstalled files to use. The additional camera tools in FS offer a lot to play with on top of lightning options.

Perhaps you'll also like a basic editing tutorial, like https://xantheanneslife.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/snapshot-tips-and-tricks/ .

Your photo quality can be greatly enhanced by the use of good lightning, but your overall graphical settings also play a huge part.

I will read it all....  but graphs setting higher, i can not lose another laptop :-)

A few seconds of ultra shouldn't hurt any computer. The problem is if the gpu overheats and it takes a little bit of time to build the heat.

Use fairly low graphics when you stage the scene and switch to higher graphics just before you take the picture.
