my avatar is a ball of white energy

i tried to get on the viewer but my avatar is a ball of energy can you please help me fix this problem

If this is a brand new account...I had this happen once, with a new avatar on my first login.  I fixed it by changing avatars.  Use the "Avatars" button, the one with two people on it, to open a window with a choice of avatars to use.  If that doesn't work, try some of the other solutions in the link Rolig provided.
