Yes, not a viewer thing, but a Windlight thing. You can also of course turn on lights WITHIN the house or wear a bright facelight LOL (we do what we need to do to get that shot).

Here are some Windlight setting tutorials that might help.

Windlight gives you two light sources, the sun/moon light and the ambient light. The ambient light setting is what you want to adjust to control the brightness inside the house. There is also a gamma setting which produces a harsh effect on lighting. Rezzing a prim and setting it to emit light is another way (I use this often) as well as setting a prim as a point light which acts like turning on a spotlight.

Projector lights are your friend. SL's shadow settings are either sun/moon or sun/moon/projectors.

You rez a prim, stretch it out to some suitable size, make it a projector light on the features tab in edit by adding a blank texture to the selector box, and then you can set the cone and range and falloff etc to produce what is effectively a parallel sided area spotlight upto 64m by 64 m in size, set the prim invisible and it wont show up in your picture.

So if being indoors blocks 'real' sim sunlight in your shot, you can make your own indoor 'fake' sunlight.
