Like Alwin said, if you buy L$ in larger quantities, the increase will not be felt as bad as if you do lots of tiny buys.  Thankfully, they didn't raise the fees for seeling L$, so the folks that sell just enough to cover their premium and tier fees won't be impacted on that side things.

On the buy side it is like a tiny pinstab compared to the gouging on the 'credit to RL' side of things.

Another way to look at this is that they're fully aware SL is a cash cow for them, and have no plans on shutting it down anytime soon.

 

Also... anything that shifts where they get revenue from away from 'land ownership' is a good thing. The less they depend on land barons to keep the lights on, the better. Much nicer if land barons are a just a smaller portion of the revenue stream.

No, because trying to squeeze too much milk out of your cow is not a good long term strategy. It's something you do if you're stupid or desperately hungry and the current LL management is not stupid.

I just noticed the increase where I tend to buy a small amount of L once in a while to pay a rental or two and call it good. It used to cost about 20 dollars to get 5 k linden, now its not even that. I was surprised and thought it was weird so I checked here and was annoyed. I doubt that I will buy that bit of extra L anymore and just pay for the rental if its going to be like that now ..pfft.

you can simply avoid the raise in buying fees when you buy more at a time (and not being tempted to spend it already   )

buy more but less frequent.

So at what threshold does this increase seem to not be noticeable? Because its still quite obvious when looking at what used to be 20k Linden, is now 19,680. I used to get a nice round figure of L and perhaps a tiny bit extra for the cost of 80 dollars even. I suppose I will stick to my original statement - buy only the L I need for rentals.
