Alternatively, you can buy a small amount of L$ on the SL website. As an account-verified resident with "payment info used" status, you can access almost all adult regions without the need to verify your age. LL consider all residents to be adults that have done business with them.

Sometimes people that joined SL before they were 18 do have problems with getting the maturity rating to change and verifying once they turn 18. It may be because there never used to be under 18s on the main grid and so its all new to the system and its not thouroughly tested.

Go to https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ and submit a ticket in the Account Issues section (whichever one is close enough) and make it very clear in the text that joined SL before you were 18 and its not recognising your new age.
