I was laughing almost to the point of tears!  Hahahaha!  Thanks for hanging out with me.  Those animations were the best!😄

I pissed myself a little in RL. So funny. You probably thought I was afk. I just couldn't type! I didn't get a pic of the funniest one with your little head popping up from behind the sofa haha

I took this pic while just playing with the camera and relaxing. I censored it a bit, but it loses the effect somewhat. To me, it shows the beauty of nature, of the human body, and the beauty of what we as humans can build.

If women can post pics of their butt in a thong, I don't see what would be wrong with seeing yours.  I've posted mine before.

I agree with you but unfortunately some people here don't. In another thread, a funny picture with a Chuckiette doll holding scissors and a naked male from behind had been posted. Nothing graphic or porn. And since the thread was about Rob having lost his "best part" (is it really? 🤣) while laying on a mat or something, it was just funny given the context to imagine what the Chuckiette intended to do (or had done) with the scissors. Yet someone flagged the picture because of the naked male butt. The picture was then removed by mods. 🙄

Yeah. It's not really very logical or consistent (let's talk about nipples!), but I've had a non-sexual pic removed from here for displaying naked butts.

Please, Rowan. Think of the children.

Where?

Fronts are different on men and women so I can somewhat understand the nipple thing but let's not go down that rabbit hole.   Butts are unisex.  The inconsistency in allowing those is what bothers me.  Is a naked but ok or ok only in a thong?  How much should be covered?  Are high cut bathing suits ok?  Minimum amount of fabric?

Totally. But there's also the point of sexualized vs. non-sexualized nudity. There are photos here that are waaaaaay more explicitly sexualized (and, for all intents, more revealing) than the one I posted that was removed. A woman in a thong, or pasties, can be (and usually is) far more deliberately and obviously sexual than a simple nude shot from behind. Ironically, the pic I had removed was a sort of statement on nudity in art (it was two naked museum visitors viewing an ancient statue that had been "clothed".)

In fairness to LL, this kind of standard is relatively easy to enforce -- you don't need to think about it, you just judge it on the obvious things that are uncovered -- and is the same kind of standard applied on Flickr. "Artistic merit" or "sexualized vs. non-sexualized" would require some actual judgment on the part of a mod, and that takes time and money (and, er, judgement).

But LL, to its credit, distinguishes between sexual and non-sexual nudity in-world in its rating system. It's a shame that can't apply here too.

Sidebar: I wonder if anyone has ever posted a picture of breastfeeding? Facebook ran into some serious flack about removing those a few years back.

Not just that. They also received some backlash for removing pictures of famous Renaissance paintings showing nipples or breasts (and I'm not talking about Gustave Courbet's painting The Origin of the World here). My European self would say that's the hypocrisy of American puritanism where you can basically preach family values while cheating on your wife until you get caught on tape. Then you do a TV interview with the wifey and kids, shed loads of tears, maybe go to rehab (for what, really?) and get your halo back. 🙄

Oh, the default is definitely the more "moral" end of Middle America. It's sort of a lowest-common-denominator thing, I think: what does LL need to filter out of the forums, which are of course open to anyone in a way that in-world is not, to avoid upsetting someone somewhere.

And there's a bit of history here. SL had its own version(s) of "Nipplegate" in 2007 (at Burning Man in SL) and 2010 (at SLB7), censoring resident-produced art because of nudity (and just nudity: the issue was, literally, nipples).

In fairness to rationality, I'd find it hard to justify promoting SL at SXSW with the image of a woman dressed in sexualized attire, with an "Eat Me" tattoo just above her genitals while simultaneously banning the display of female nipples.

Yeah, that post was just a joke, it was hardly pornographic.

I totally agree with you. I was just making sure my pic wouldn't be removed.
