I've started a series of pics that mimic what you might call "High Fashion Photography" -- "artsy" photographs of over-the-top fashion where aesthetics trumps utility. Artificial, somewhat elitist, and somewhat pretentious. But it can produce some cool pics. I want to accompany at least some of these with "process" pics -- documenting the process of taking the shot, in part as a counter to the artificiality of the final pics. And that's what this, and the next shot are -- I took them as I was setting up the pic. For what it's worth, everything in this pic with the exception of the camera and the coffeemaker were functionally part of the process of taking the pic: the lighting, for instance, incorporates projector and point lights that I used for the pic.
