edit profile button is not there

trying to change my display name and the edit profile button is not there. i have not changed my name since i have started and it has been 3 weeks.  i have restarted nothing. i even logged off came back next day still not there. what is going on and how can i get this fixed?

How are you trying to set your display name?

Are you setting it in a web browser at https://my.secondlife.com/tomgryl
...or from your profile in the viewer?

If you are trying to edit your profile from within the viewer, if you see a lock icon on the left of your profile you need to click the lock and login.
The lock shouldn't happen, it's a bug that isn't fully fixed yet.

If that doesn't help, which viewer are you using?
If you are using Firestorm & trying to change the display name via the legacy profile, you will need to have display names enabled to see the edit display name button on your profile.
