Second Life viewer Keeps reinstalling

I am a little frustrated with the  SL viewer. I reinstalled and this problem still exists.

Every other time I go to start SL it re installs Second Life. it's always downloading and insisting on reinstalling.

I did a complete uninstall reinstall and it's still happening. Thinking of going to another viewer cause this crap has been going on for months with out being fixed. Uninstall, reinstall, makes no difference at all. Maybe a third party Viewer might be not have this issue?

It sounds like you are maybe launching the viewer from an old shortcut, which is causing the updater to trigger each time the viewer is launched.
Can you delete all shortcuts to the viewer from your desktop.
Then uninstall all versions of the Linden Lab viewer that you have installed the usual way through Windows control panel -> Programs & Features.
Then download and install the latest viewer release from https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/

Also, if you have the program pinned to the Task Bar and/or Start Menu, remove that pin and redo it after re-installing.
