When I type something in local chat or IM, half of the time I see it posted double. The same goes for people accepting friends requests etc. I already downloaded the newest driver for my graphics card, rebooted, reinstalled the viewer, but it keeps occurring.

Do you have a wireless connection? As that can cause what you are describing.
