I expanded my "box summer cottage". Due to the limited LI allowance the only economical way is to make it with simple prims, make them to convex hulls, and link always two prims so the LI is only 1 in the linked sets. The original build had only two stories, then decided to lower the ground 4 meters under the pool. Then I could have three stories house. I saw also that there was a 144 m² parcel for sale next to mine. I bought it and joined it to my existing 368 m² parcel. So now I have 512 m² of land to play with.

Parcel capacity: 160 out of 175 (15 available). Carefully selecting only very low LI objects it's possible to have something nice.
Mostly I enjoy building, trying out different things, and different setups. That's quite fun activity. So the house might have constant changes going on.

I tossed flowers in the walled garden, and it's not looking bad. I like the whimsical things like the dutch windmill, sundial, and I also have a bird bath there. I pointed a light projector at the angel bench, since it's a bit dark.

EDIT: I was asked about what I used, it is too much to write the list, but details here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/27764102@N02/44897931695/in/dateposted-public/

My patio starts to be ready; doing final checks there. Besides plenty of plants I added lots of environmental sounds too, which give a really nice overall tropical feeling to the place.
My friend found really nice looking big palm tree. I made a hole on the glass roofing so that the tree ? can happily grow through it up to the open air. Most plants and groups of plants each are just 1 LI. Which is great with limited land LI capacity.

Have you seen Reid Parkin's free tropical plants? Most of these stretch a bit before the LI increase. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Tropical-Plants-Mega-Pack-Full-Perm-FREE/5237378

I think I will replace the walled garden with a frozen pond/ice skate rink and a snowy pergola for the winter. It will be much lower in LI, but I still have a lot of LI to use.

I have developed a blind eye for things outside my parcel, so I am toying with the idea of going full winter on my parcel. The neighbor on the other sim has started with snowdrifts - full bright, nothing less.

It is early to talk about winter, I know. But I will not have time for SL around Christmas, so what's not decorated 1-2 weeks before Christmas eve will not be decorated.

I know it's early, but I started to put down snow. It's the house builders fault. I thought roof snow was, well, roof snow.... I was wrong. The free snow set includes snow for the terrace, on top of the curved walls, even some snow for the front steps on the other side. So could I resist? No. Totally unedited.

Between Marianne mentioning the Scarlett Creative Magicae house and Coby mentioning abandoned land up on the unfinished continent, I ended up with a new project.   I love the Magicae house, and have the majority of the rooms furnished.  The landscaping of the parcel has been a bigger task, and is still very much a work in progress (especially on the front side of the house where I've only put out a few trees).  I decided to put in some creeks and waterfalls this time, something I hadn't done before.  I also tried to work more with the existing contours of the land this time, rather than flattening the entire parcel.

So far, looking towards the back of the house:

The far end from the house, a little camp area for my alt, who had been homeless the last year while I've been living on an estate:

I bought the Hive kitchen, but then only ended up using one section of it.  I'll put some interior pictures up shortly :)

It's harder than I thought it would be to take good pictures of rooms.  There is probably still more I could do in terms of décor items, but I feel good about what I've done so far, considering the size of the house and what I had in inventory to work with.  I just really enjoy this house and all its quirkiness.  It reminds me of a home that started out small a long time ago and the many owners, over the decades, have added on to, sometimes a little oddly.

Kitchen:

As a family we upgraded to a homestead and I have been decorating it to get it ready for Christmas and Winter.

I've recently added a weather machine and the house below is the BellaRose Bellaville. A huge beautiful looking house that is only 490 prims.

5430c99f4474a6e1b82e61c5f5c38696.jpg

Also included fishing dock for 7Seas which also houses our motorboat. Added wave system with sounds too.

The Kitchen kitted out with AR Status stuff. I love AR Also got a Neurolab Fridge.

The boys warming up by the fire.

The music area with our Piano. Piano is pretty cool. Plays music and has lots of animations and is only 1 prim.

As on the south side of my parcel there rose a rather ugly looking small town with badly textured building facades I decided to re-arrange my patio totally. The good thing is that there is still unobstructed view towards west, north and east from my parcel.

Behind the low patio wall there is a glimpse of my neighbour's dark building roofs.
When the neighbouring parcel was empty I didn't have that wall there, now it's a must so that I don't need to stare at the ugly buildings.

View towards northwest. On the north side there is that totally walled parcel. But it doesn't matter as the wall texture is actually quite nice.

I just discovered Angel Manor Estate builds, does any one have their homes and furniture? amazing stuff, their fully furnished skybox Library is the type of thing you want to just buy even if it serves no purpose, its huge but everything is in proportion, not the awful size issues some builders have when a sink is the size of a bath tub and you av looks like a child sitting in it.

BTW how does one achieve this  beautiful daylight effect.

Has it always been against forum guidelines to post a link to the MP? Anyway, this is (one of) my happy little sitting area in my yard. Almost everything came in a particular subscription box that has decorating items in it (won't say which in case that's against guidelines as well)

Category is: Post-apocalyptic realness (after a few years when things have settled down a little).
My piece of mainland - a greenhouse with a chatting area on top, a garden, a tree house - and a giant antenna to communicate with other survivors. Also featuring a writing hang-out where my bud and me meet to write murder mystery fanfic.

It's not finished yet, but then, when are these ever.

Ahhhh, now I understand the dead body under the rug.  You were doing a bit of practice for your next novel.
