Cannot access the page  https://secondlife.aditi.lindenlab.com/my/account/ip/tutorial.php?

The above page is 404! It does not exist. The answer above is UTTERLY wrong!

Calm down, calm down, calm down! The world hasn't ended yet ;)

I thought LL had updated those links by now and apparently so did Nalates.

Try to log on to

https://secondlife.aditi.lindenlab.com/

and then check the Mesh status under the account tab in the left column. That should take you to the upload test for the mesh grid. If it doesn't, I suggest you open a thread about it in the Mesh section of this forum because that would certianly be something we all want to know about.

Edit: I see you are new to this forum Bo, so you may not know that Answers section is a user-trying-their-best-to-help-other-users forum. Nobody from Linden Lab ever replies to the question. We all try our best to help but we are not always updated on the latest news. Aditi and the Aditi website are test sites for Linden Lab too and they can make changes to everything, including the URLs at any given time.

Anyway, if you don't get a good answer right away, take a deep breath, get yourself a cup/glass of whatever you prefer to drink and jsut wait for somebody to come up with better/more updated info.

The above page is 404! It does not exist. The answer above is UTTERLY wrong! I keep trying to find the page that I need to got to take the Mesh test for the Aditi grid. I just wind up going in a loop!!! I took the mesh test for the main grid YEARS ago. I do not remember what I had to do to get to the mesh test on the main grid and, frankly I should not HAVE to remember!

PLEASE post the CURRENT method for users to use to take the mesh test for the Aditi grid. Thank you.

with this response you have to ask very convincing and humble " PLEASE give me the current method "

people who answer are just trying to help here and offer their time and best knowledge to answer... even when not totally correct they spend time and their knowledge to help as far as possible.

a spicey response won't be counted as bad, but no need to shout like you do.

Do you realize that you are working with other SL residents here and not LL?  We do the best we can and sometimes the info we have does need to be corrected.

Thank you for the posts and my apologies to those who ACTUALLY GAVE ANSWERS to the question that I posed! I was, in fact NOT AWARE that this is a user to user forum. But, now that I am aware I am NOT surprised by the fact that Linden Labs does not answer questions on this forum! Albeit I gather that my status is "Newbie", I am not new to SL, nor to the frustration of dealing with LL regarding problems in SL.

Regarding login to the Aditi site and setting up my account. I am FINALLY able to log in after NUMEROUS requests (going back over a couple of years) to LL to FIX what was evidently a problem with my inventory (I am still cleaning out stuff from 2007...).After three recent requests, back t o back I was never notified that whatever problem existed was fixed, but discovered I could log in one afternoon recently.

To the forum :  I have tried all of the things that were proffered, without any success. When I log into my account through the Web Login to the Beta Grid account via the web I DO, in fact log into my account. I was able to click on the acceptance of the IP. I was immediately taken to the ACCOUNT page where I was invited to enter my CREDIT CARD information (said info is ALREADY on file on my Agni account!!!). AM I correct that I am required to give the Linden Lag people the same credit card information AGAIN to use their "You don't have to pay to test your uploads..." site????? I realize now that this is a user run forum so, if true the rhetorical question regarding entering my credit card info is WHY?

Again, thank you to those who actually attempted to help me. Please believe that those of you who DID pose answers have my sincere gratitude.

The answer is that verified credit card information is Linden Lab's way of knowing that there's a real person behind the account, just in case you decide to do something truly nasty.  If you've been in SL for very long, you probably remember the many times that people have suggested making payment information a requirement for all accounts, not just Premium ones.   It would be a helpful deterrent against griefers who (surprise!) would rather remain anonymous.

The Lab is not likely to ever take that suggestion seriously, but they did take a small step that way when they started letting us import mesh.  Perhaps it's a way to put a face on people who upload mesh that they have ripped from other places.  Who knows?  So why do they need to ask you again when you ask for access to Aditi?  I truly do not know, but Aditi is a completely separate grid.  It took them a long time to figure out a reliable way to sync inventories between Aditi to Agni, and it's still chancy, so it's not hard to believe that syncing other things is trickier than it looks to us.  In any case, the bottom line is that this is Linden Lab's house and they make the rules.  If you want to upload mesh to Aditi, you enter payment information again.  ;)

I think that is the answer to your question really. Aditi is made as a completely separate grid and syncing the mesh upload permission data would be more work than it's really worth. Taking that test - or acceptng those IP terms twice is hardly a big deal. At least it wouldn't have been a big deal if they kept the page for it at the same URL - or at least rememebred to update all the links when they changed it.

You don't need payment info on file added to your Aditi account to upload mesh.  Once you have accepted the new "IP terms" you should be able to upload mesh on the beta grid.

Did you try doing a mesh upload on Aditi after accepting the IP terms?

They have started to participate in the discussion sections of the forums recently but if you think about it, it doesn't really make much sense to use an open, public forum for them to answer specific question for specific users.

However, a question like this one is not only for a specific users and it shouldn't even be necessary to ask it over and over again. What SL lacks, is essentially a huge FAQ, an easily searchable base of short, concise and updated answers to common questions. Unfortunately neither the wiki nor the knowledge base meet any of those four requirements and they are all we have.

@Bo Falworth Try going through your web dashboard: https://secondlife.com/my/index.php

In ACCOUNT look for Mesh Upload Status. That should get you to the test.

With a failing URL, you can try to recover by shaving parts off the URL. Delete from the right taking off everything up to the first/next '/'. Repeat until you have a working URL.

Thank you to all of those who attempted to help me. I logged into the aditi/test grid this morning and was able to upload mesh objects. Yesterday I clicked on the ACCEPT the IP terms button, which took me to a screen asking for my credit card info (already on file under my avatar on the main [Agni] grid). I refused to enter my credit card information again, and logged out. My account on the Aditi grid still says I need to enter my credit card info before I can upload.

I have no explanation for why I am now able to use the test grid, but I can! I cease to wonder at the miracles and marvels. :)

AGAIN, THANK YOU

Yeah don't worry about the Aditi mesh page showing incorrect info - it's broken.  As long as you clicked the "IP Terms" Accept button you're all set now to upload mesh on Aditi.
