Kiru Aura
Impossible to see another avatar beside me. Why? How to change that? Edited April 3, 2017 by Kiru Aura
angeoco
Could be a few reasons. (1) You have blocked them - they might appear as a blob of smoke. (2) The other avatar is too complex - you might see them as a coloured blob. You can adjust the level of acceptable complexity in your viewer settings; this is to avoid overloading your graphics. (3) They are deliberately making themselves invisible by wearing a full-body alpha. (4) There might be too many avatars in the scene. You can set the maximum number to be displayed in your viewer settings. This is to avoid overloading your graphics. Madelaine McMasters
We'll need more information. Is there only one avatar you cannot see, or many? How do you know there is an avatar there? Are you unable to see anything at all, or do you see a floating name tag?
Kiru Aura
Only one. She invite me, she seems beside in mini-map. No floating name tag.
Madelaine McMasters
Have you tried an alternative viewer? I always have two viewers handy, just in case of of them misbehaves.
Kiru Aura
In Firestorm viewer, I changed the setting "Mode" from "Firestorm" to "Phoenix" in the start screen. Nothing happens.
Madelaine McMasters
Changing the Firestorm UI mode is not the same as using a different viewer. Try the official SL viewer, you'll find it here... http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ Before you do that, make sure you have gone to the Firestorm "Comm" menu, selected "Block List" (it's the last item in the menu) and then made sure you have no avatars on the list. Kiru Aura
I will do that, thank you. I will try another thing before : to go online with another avi of mines and to test if I see the invisible avi like that. I will tell you later. :-)
Kiru Aura
I tried with Second Life original viewer and it was ok. But this not explain why in the other viewer what happened. Thank you Madelaine.
Whirly Fizzle
On Firestorm, check that you have not accidentally blacklisted the invisible avatar. Top menu bar -> World -> Asset Blacklist. If their name is on the blacklist, remove their name & then TP to another region & back or relog to rerender them, Also on Firestorm, make sure you have not set the viewer to render friends only. World -> Show friends only.
Klytyna
It could simply be that they are using a scripted opencollar with the 'buried pose' and their ao switched off, their avi could simply be several meters below ground, no name tag shows but they are right next to you.
