so, I recently decided that I wanted to make male skins (or is it appliers??) (preferably for the Signature Gianni Mesh Body). Now, I came across Robin's tutorial here: http://robin-makingstuff.blogspot.com/2011/08/making-male-skin-starlight-step-1.html but when I went to download the PSD (or) GIMP Files from here: https://sites.google.com/site/another/resources, I got this message here: https://gyazo.com/ef340677b787a851e5284f3e5d92ffab. SO, basically I was wondering if there were any other tutorials like Robins' that are currently accessible for people like myself who want to dabble in skin creation? Also, I've never made skins for ANY virtual program before. Translation: TOTAL NOOB HERE (in terms of skin making and things of that nature).

Hi :)

Unfortunately the wonderfull Eloh Eliot skin files are becoming harder and harder to find. But not impossible. You can still download some from here:

http://www.outworldz.com/download/

Scroll down the page and you will find them:

Avatar UV templates can  be found here:

http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLPages/AVUVTemplates.html

and why not some fake bake textures :) :

The above should keep you occupied for a few days ........

You posted a link to a tutorial in your first post.

That was a tutorial how to convert the template into one for males though. Here are two other post at Robin's blog that probably are more useful for a beginner:

and

Well, a while ago a grocery store chain where I live was selling bread that was both stone oven baked and store baked at the same time (and no, their stores did not have stone ovens). If that's not fake baking, I don't know what is.

But since we're talking about textures here, I assume you mean baking as in merging a shadow layer to the texture layer in some graphics editor. In that context fake baking is when you "paint" the shadowing manually directly onto the texture. Just like bananas, the "fake" kind is actually far more impressive than the "real" kind.
