2I cannot download the second life viewer 2 to my Macbook Pro

No matter what I do, shut down computer etc., I can't successfully download the second life viewer. to my Macbook Pro. I clice on the download icon on the web it downloads to a DMG file. I open the DMG file and it allows me to put the icon in my applications folder. I  click on the Icon and all I get is the whirring ball (ball of death)

Hi, does your MBP have Leopard or Snow leopard on it? Tiger is no longer supported. You can still run the old version 1.23, or try a third party viewer, if the operating system version is in your way.

If your MBP does meet the system requirements, can you post more about the system you have?
