Question

Hi ...   I purchased 2560 sqm of mainland due to being premium expecting to get credit for the 512 sqm - so my tier would be $15.00 / month.

LL is still charging me $25.00.   Do I get credit for the 512?   I'm confused.

Can anyone explain?

I can't seem to reply to your post.  ???

Square meters owned = 2560

Premium bonus = 512

Paid Tier Level = 4096

Available sq. meters = 4608

Monthly Cost $ USD 25.00

Also,  no I do not own a linden home.

On your account summary, how much does it say for what you have available, your peak usage & what does it say your next payment is scheduled to be?

Also, do you have a LInden Home as well as your 2560?

EDIT: If you buy the 2560sqm before abandoning your Linden Home, your peak usage for that month will =3072sqm and you will be charged the next tier level up for that month only.

The $15/month tier is for owning landing up to 2048 sq meters. Anything over that you jump to the next tier level ($25/month). You own 2560 sq meters so you pay $25/month. You can own another 1532 sq meters at that tier level........or you can sell off 464 sq meters to drop down to the $15/month tier level.

Thats sort of right Peggy except that you still get to have 512sqm free in addition, so Cali is correct that she should only be charge $15 for a 2048sqm.

If you look on that link you posted where it says "The chart below shows the monthly cost of owning the following additional amounts of land beyond the initial 512 square meters covered by your Premium account." :)

OK ... got to the bottom of it ... When I purchased the land, I still owned my Linden home, the fact that I immediately abandoned it does not count, I guess. LOL

So .. I am being charged for peak usage: Peak square meter usage: 3,072.00 square meters

Next month it will go down to $15.00 as expected.

I don't know how to mark that part of the question correct in this new format! :-X

You can't cherry pick what you want from the chart. Read the second paragraph.........the first 512 sq meters is tier free (LL put the $5 there to show you how much they are "giving" you.........don't ask me why they did that because I don't know). The amount of land you own right now has a $25/month tier.

This argument has been argued forever.........you will loose the argument every time. According to LL's land use fees, you are paying to proper tier. You're above the 2048 meter limit so you are in the next tier level.

Yes I do own mainland........and have for 5 years. Following your logic someone owning 1024 meters would pay $3/month (the $8/month tier minus the $5 free tier)..........that doesn't happen. A person owning 2048 meter would pay $10/month (the $10/month tier minus the $5 free tier)..........that doesn't happen. And someown owning 2560 meters would pay $15/month (the $25/month tier minus the $5 free tier).............that won't happen either. You need to drop 464 meters to pay the $15/month tier. Or purchase another 1532 meters to get your money's worth.

Cali, your tier won't drop to $15 next month................I'm sorry to tell you. I'm not arguing. Stating facts is all.

@ Peggy The land fee charts (including the one on the page you posted) are all referring to charges for "Additional" land ...over and above the 512 that you get free of charge. The important part is always the "Peak usage", in this Cali still owned her 512 for her Linden home for 30 minutes after she bought the 2560sqm so her peak usage for the month is 3072sqm and thats why she has been charged £25. Her peak usage for next month will be 2560sqm and she will be charged $15.

$10 for 30 mins is very harsh and is a common trap people get caught in by buying and selling land the wrong side of their tier date usually.

I do understand what you are saying, but you are not taking into account her free 512...Next month she will only own 2048sqm of additional land.

If you still own mainland and you are not using your free 512, you must have 512sqm showing as available to buy on your account summary land section.

That's mistake I made..........it does not work that way. She owns more than 2048 but less than 4096 so she will pay the 4096 tier ($25/month). Same as I would if I bought 256 meters my tier would be $8/month...........I now own 512 tier free. I just don't want Cali to be surprised next month when she finds she still owes LL $25. And she will too.

You buy 512 sqm and pay nothing. You buy another 512 sqm for a total of 1024 sqm and pay $5. You buy another 512 sqm for a total of 1536 sqm and pay $8. You but another 1024 sqm for a total of 2560 sqm and pay $15.

Peggy, you seem to think that the premium bonus of 512 sqm of free teir is the same as the 512 sqm for $5 on the chart, but it's not. I've owned 1024 sqm before and LL changed me $5 a month in tier, not $3 or $8.
