Odd title floating above my head...

Apparently, if someone is using the Phoenix viewer, my avatar appears with my name (as it should) and also the words "The Engineer" above its head. I have no idea how, or why, this happened. (Or when, for that matter). I've had several people ask my if I'm an engineer in rl, what kind of engineer I am, etc. As far as I can tell, this only happens with Phoenix. I've asked friends who have been on sl for a long time, and no one has any idea what the problem is or what to do about it.

(If by chance this is something I can fix using Preferences---what do I reset?)

You have joined a group, and that's the title that comes with your role in the group.  Right click on yourself and select Groups to see which ones you belong to, and which one is highlighted at the moment. If you don't want to have that particular one active, select a different one (or NONE) and select Activate.  (You can also do the same thing by choosing Edit >> Groups.) Yes, that is a group tag and I think it is from the Bear Entertainment group to which you belong.  You can also see your groups listed on your profile.

As others have stated, it is a group tag. The reason you don't see it and others do is that you have to set in your preferrences "Show group tags".
