everythin is blury

When I log in to SL the view is totally blury. I have logged in and out to try and reset the viewer but that hasn't worked. I can see the mnues and everything just not the view of SL

TP to Smith (because things load faster there) clear your cache and relog to Smith.

When you get back in, stay there under the water, open your inventory and wait until it has fully reloaded before doing anything else. You can type in the inventory search bar to prompt loading.

This will clear your texture cache and should get rid of any texture corruption you were experiencing.

What viewer do you use? In Phoenix, you go into Edit > Preferences > Network and click the 'Clear Cache' button. Then relog into Smith as Peewee suggests.

Depends on your viewer but it will be in your preferences, on Network tab - a button called clear cache) or I think v2 is on setup tab a reset button next to cache location.

 

Just saw pic you posted and OMG that is blurry!! that may be more than a cache clearing, but try that first.

I've actually been off for a while and got back on last week. So it's a new computer, new SL everything

ok. Cleared the cache and it's still blury. However if i go to preferences and set the graphics to low i can see fine. any thoughts on what it might be?

Has SL been blurry like that since the first time you logged in on new puter or is it just today that started?

Ahh ok your graphics card cannot manage the setting that you had it at. Click the recommended settings button and leave it there. You can mess with the setttings if you like but you may see distortion again.  And, welcome back.

This blury thing just started today, I've had the SL graphics set at high since I've been back. I was on earlier today and was sitting and when I stood up everything was blury.

As you said that it is fine with low graphics, I would have to agree with Venus that it sounds like your card cannot handle that ultra setting.

You didn`t say which card you have, so if you could post that it would help & as its a new computer, did you update the drivers yet? Go to the official website for NVidia or AMD (ATI) whichever it is & install the latest drivers for your specific card.

Then restart your computer and see if that improves the graphics level you can run SL at.

the computer is a new HP P6000 series. 3 gig processor, 4 gig of ram. i up graded the graphics card to a GeForce 9800GT. I downloaded the drivers from the website about a week ago

Its so weird that it would suddenly go like that without warning, are you noticing anything different anywhere else on the web? Is it possible something jiggled loose or there is dust stopping a fan from working correctly and causing some overheating?

 

You say you upgraded the card, sometimes its necessary to upgrade the PSU too...There are other posters on here that would know that better than me, so hopefully they will add some suggestions.

 

In the meantime, check that everything is clean and seated properly, test if you have the same effect on other viewers, you could try a couple of the TPVs for comparison https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory
