Is there anyway for me to sell L$. Does upgrading to a premium account allow me to sell L$?

No, you don't need to be a premium member.  However, you do need a confirmed PayPal account if you want to have the proceeds sent to you.  

You also, I think, need to be Payment Info Used status -- that is, you've already used a credit card or PayPal to buy something from LL (L$ or Premium Membership).    See the article on  Lindex Trading Limits    Your first transaction has to be a purchase.   You can't start your trading relationship with LL by selling L$..
