Why does SL viewer say the plugin doesn't work?

I suggest you use the viewer's HELP->ABOUT... to provide viewer and computer information. Give us an explanation of what you do to pop the error message.

Make sure you've done a clean install. http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_clean_install  That's specific to Firestorm but you can locate the appropriate files in the Second Life viewer.

Which plug-in, specifically, is it stating isn't working. That would help too. For instance, if you try to log in and it says the voice plugin isn't working, I wouldn't worry about that one since it's an external server that works through SL and there are intermittent problems with that.
