Any tricks for aligning a multi part set of meshes together for linking?

Take the M3 head for example. The jaws for the various mouth shapes are seperate meshes linked with the head, and all require perfect alignment to avoid gaps and seams.

Yet I see no tools to make this easy, snapping just works on units and not to components like verts or edges.

Not my area but ---

Join the pieces, merge the vertices appropriately, then separate and use the trick for avoiding seams posted this last week in this forum.

Might be a starting place.

Good luck.

I always make seperated components overlap slightly and, preferrably, intersect to avoid gaps at the seams. Aligned vertices that fit perfectly in the 3D design program always seem to have annoying see-through holes when uploaded in SL—no matter how well you align them.
