Sadly with land deals on private sims you are at the mercy of the sim owner, so if you get on their wrong side and they decide not to be nice there is not really anything you can do about it.

It sounds like if you called him rude, he is probably already in that frame of mind not to help you, so you likely lost your money

You're going to have to work it out with them, I'm afraid.  LL doesn't get involved in personal disputes between residents.
