Why do I turn white underwater?

You are wearing a mesh body/head... the tattoo/underwear/clothing layers are set to blend not mask, and because SL has long standing graphics glitches with multipe layers of alpha.

 

Fixes.

On your body's control hud, go to the layers tab, and click the cntrol to toggle visible layers from blend to mask mode or...

Turn off applied layers and just wear a mesh swimsuit or...

Stay out of the water because...

Da dum...

Probably this bug...

BUG-9851 - Alpha masked textures on rigged mesh render opaque underwater when ALM is disabled.

Best workaround is to enable ALM if your system can handle it.

Preferences -> Graphics -> Tick "Advanced Lighting Model"
