I don't use voice myself, but I have it enabled and listen to others using it.  Voice quality is very good...unless the person does not have a decent microphone setup at their computer, or has set the mic volume way too high.  Laptop computers do a better job with voice than desktops, their microphones, speakers, and noise cancellation are designed for it.  With a desktop, you're better off with a headset that has a boom microphone.  Don't use those cheap plastic desktop mics.

Second life voice is vivox .

Its been acting up last couple of days .... lots of breaking up sounds and frequent loss of voice all together.
