Can ANY internet radio http address be set as the music stream for a parcel? Is BBC possible?

I'm enbarrassed that I don't know the format(s) SL does support but I believe that the BBC, specifically, uses an 'odd' one that isn't.  That's why you normally have to download the BBC iPlayer in order to listen to their stuff.

[but I could be completely wrong.  Gah!  I know how to program it to play all this stuff but not what it will play! Duh]

Unfortunately, BBC Radio only streams in RealAudio format.  SL will only let you play streams that are encoded as mp2, mp3, or ogg.  Until someone more knowledgeable explains how to convert from one stream format to another, I'm afraid BBC RAdio 3 isn't going to play in world.   Sorry.   :smileysad:
