Using Singularity...some heads of other people appear at their waists...how can I fix this?

The latest Singularity version was released June of 2016 prior to the introduction of Bento.  It is now an obsolete viewer. You need to switch to a different view that supports Bento or just put up with it.

I know of no other reason that you are having this issue.

One addition to Amethyst's reply: Singularity does have a Bento compatible viewer coming up. It's currently in alpha and I have no idea when it will be officially released.

Singularity is not dead but sadly, one of its key developers is and another had to leave the team for RL reasons. The two remaining developers are doing their best but it's understandable that updates can be a bit slow.

My singularity works fine. I don't know of any others that work as good on my laptop. It seems other viewers have a hard time running on it since it is only a 32 bit and a few years old. Frestorm and the second life viewer are terrible. However i love firestorm for my home computer. That computer rocks though.
