Without any more information, it's hard to guess why you're having trouble teleporting.  In general, though, teleportation is a rather stressful activity.  To do it, the server on your target region has to get a handoff from the server on the region you are leaving, so that both know how fast you're going, what you're carrying, whether you are seated, and a host of other things. It doesn't take a lot to mess up that handoff.
