Alwins answer is incorret (I don't blame him, I didn't knew it either, before I had that problem once).

Turn off your router for a couple of minutes and then turn it on again. This will hopefully trigger a change in your IP adress and solve the problem. The message you are getting usually comes from trying to enter with an IP adress that has previously be banned from SL. Meaning someone who had that adress before you got banned for something.

Alwin and Syo are BOTH correct.  There are several reasons you can get this error message.

  • Your ISP has assigned you an IP address that matches one that LL has banned.  In other words, you've been caught up in the overkill.  Reboot your router as Syo describes to get your ISP to assign you a new IP address.
  • You yourself, or someone using your computer, has committed serious Terms of Service violations, and LL has issued an IP address ban or a hashtag ban.  In this case, you may file a Support case protesting the ban, but you are probably out of luck.
  • Your computer is, as Alwin suggests, inadequate to run Second Life.
