I see everyone around me either purple black or green.... how do I solve this issue?

we are no doctors here so we can't see if you have flu a cold or infuenza... but it;s for sure not a computervirus... SL doesn't deliver virsusses, not imposible most likely but never ever happened.

Your graphics card is simply not strong enough to handle all it has to show you on your screen.

No, seriously.  What you are seeing is a result of your Avatar Complexity settings.  The viewer now measures how "complex" an avatar is...that is, how difficult it is for your computer to render it.  Avatars that are more complex than the limit you've set appear as single colored "stand ins" or "jelly dolls." 

This helps your performance.  On the other hand, it can be annoying to not see people as they wish to appear.

You can adjust your avatar complexity in Me/Preferences/Graphics.  Experiment to find the best balance between performance and rendering accuracy.  I find that setting my complexity limit at about 300,000 works well for me, but your computer may work better with a lower setting.
