Mass Deletion of Users/Land/Sims. 100% No Recourse

Recommended Posts

There has been a staggering amount of individuals banned within the furry community lately with zero recourse. I'm wondering what is up and why this is going on. An individual in an animal breeding sim I know just got their entire account deleted purely because they had pictures of animals with their junk on them.

No warning, no anything, 100% account deletion with a **bleep** off email (summed up).

What is going on?

In saying "animals with their junk" is that RL animal photos or drawings?  Is the "junk" in question Casper's & Arby's content? I ask because it seems the Lab has not-so-recently drawn a hard line on four-legged-finagling.  (._.)

Mattress moralism strikes again and virtuality is being treated like reality in twised ways.  Pretty much jot this down as a lesson in thought policing 101. (>_<)

No, it's not related to that content.

The pictures were examples of real life animal bits. You'd find worse on breeding videos on youtube and such. It depicted no sexual act at all, matter of fact.

Generally stepping over into real life photos will cause problems with any "fringe" community.

It's absolutely important to avoid real life photos of anything that is not mainstream, and honestly, it's safest to avoid overly offensive drawings and SL photos of anything that is not mainstream.

According to the wikipedia:

... Laws against humans performing sex acts on animals, where they exist, are concerned with the actual act, which it commonly refers to as bestiality, rather than the sexual attraction to animals. For this reason, prohibitions of zoophilic pornography are more varied; they may be unlawful if an actual sex act with an animal is involved, but the status is not clear-cut if there is a mere representation, such as a painting or cartoon. In that case, normal obscenity laws will normally apply. All zoophilic imagery is widely regarded as pornography.

LL generally doesn't go hunting people down to ban.  They rely on AR's.  LL doesn't take anyone's word on any evidence they give, they can check their own chat and other logs to see what really happened.  It's also possible that RL law enforcement brought the case to the attention of LL after a complaint or investigation and they were forced to ban because these people broke RL law too.

Usually people who get banned don't give you the full story and they aren't as innocent as they may claim to be.  Don't be gullible and judge a ban based on just one side of the story.   Maybe too they don't agree with the RL law, and you may not either.  But that's the law is the law.  If they don't like it, here in the US and in a lot of other countries they can work to change it.

When people get banned LL takes their land, inventory and money too as a consequence of the ban.  It's unfortunate that the entire community suffers somewhat when sims disappear, but don't blame LL, blame the person banned.
