i had a room that i was decrorating

ages ago i had  a small room ,dont think i paid for it ,i had decorated floors,walls ,,now i cant find it nor get to it ,its vanished

A room?  SL doesn't have "rooms" that you can own or rent.  You own or rent parcels or whole regions.  If you didn't pay to own or rent the place where you were building, your stuff was probably returned to you ages ago.  Check your Lost & Found folder.

Unless a friend gave you a room, you paid for whatever you had.  There are a lot of free things in SL, but not land, homes or 'rooms' are not free.  You can always rent another place. 

If you are a premium member you can get a Linden Home without paying anything extra other than your premium fee.  If you were a premium member at the time you had a home AND continuted to pay for the premium membership, your home should still be there.  Go to your dashboard and on the side bar go to Land Manager.> My Mainland.  There will be a link there that will TP you to your home.
