A griefer with ab object rezzer caused about 4000 prims to be returned to my lost and found. How do

Maybe.  I assume that you have cleaned up the junk that the griefer rezzed, and that you have now gone into World >>> About Land >>> Options and set your land so that only you and group members can rez objects there.  If so, install the Firestorm viewer and then find those returned objects in your Lost & Found folder.  Pick one and then right click and select "Restore to LastPosition".  If you are very lucky, the object will return to where it was before the griefer overloaded your L.I. limit.  If not, then yes, you'll have to restore everything manually.

That Firestorm function will only work if you happen to have permission to rez objects at the extreme SW corner of your region (location <0,0,0>).  If not, it won't work at all.
