Try going to a different region.  If that region's server is really busy -- as it might be if there are a lot of avatars there now, or if there's a lot going on -- then it might take the servers a long time to load object contents.

Does the box actually HAVE any contents?

There are some scammers on the Marketplace that sell "products" that are only empty boxes.  Right click the object and select Edit.  Look in the Content tab.  If there's nothing there...well, then there's nothing to unpack.
