I have a storefront on Marketplace now, but am working with another creator on some items we have given a seperate brand name.  I would like to sell these items on marketplace also.  is there a way to add another storefront to my account with out losing my current storefront?

Yes.  From the Knowledge Base...

Your store profile

Your store — and you can have one store per Second Life account — has its own "profile" that can be customized. You should take advantage of this to promote your brand:

  1. Click My Marketplace in the upper-right and click Merchant Home.
  2. On the left-hand side, click Edit Store Information.

Here's what the fields mean:

  • Store Name - This defaults to your Resident name but you can change it to something else, like the inworld brand that you're already using.

Thank you for your answer Rolig,   I think i understand what you mean, I do already have a brand for my personal store,  but would like to set up another store for the second brand because the second brand would have to be set up to split/share the money received for those items

Frankly, I have not tried it myself, although I have considered it as a way of separating my clothing business from everything else.  According to that Knowledge Base article, though, you ought to be able to open a second store by just setting its name to something other than the default, your av's name.  If you're lucky, some more experienced merchant will wander by this thread and tell you for sure.  If not, you can always just take a deep breath and try it to see what happens.

hahaha I'm not too good at deep breathing.  With my luck if i tried to change the name, it would lose all of my first store items.  Going to be patient here and hope that someone who has done it will come and explain it.    I guess i could make a picture for the logo with both of the logo's on it and set the name as " first store" & "second store".   but it would be easier to keep the 2 seperate i would think.    Thank you again for your answer

Thank you Catwise,  I Hope that they decide to do it soon.  : )   The colors on the 2 different brands would clash very badly.

I guess if i look around i might find the place where i can also add my vote to asking LL to change that part of Marketplace.

without creating aother AV the only way i know of that comes close to a multiple store front is to change the store nameuse your store name and the name of the brand your co-creating when you list an item if it's not part of your main range make sure you indicate the brand in the product title

Yeah, sadly it's not possible at the moment although LL are aware of it as a desire from some merchants and it is on their radar. I think it has lower priority than some other stuff they are working on though, such as improved boxless delivery. We may get it one day though!

I'd really love that ability too. Or rather what I would really love is this:

One storefront, but different departments within. So for example, someone could go to my main "Suella's Store" branded storefront and the first think they see is options to go to any of the departmetns I have set up. Click on any of those departments and they just get my listings that I have put in that department. This would give us the ability to manage things under one main store, but keep distinct listings separate rather than having stull like clothing, furniture etc all mingled in our listings.

I think i will wait to list the other items,  There are only a few,  I am just happy that they might consider letting us have the multiple storefronts.  I could use an alt,  but then I would have to do all that passing of things between the person i am working with and the other avi,  Toooo much trouble.   bummer for sure.   Thanks again for all the answers,

Oh i love that idea too about the departments.  hopefully it will happen and soon!!!

Exactly, Suella!  My Marketplace store is mostly clothing, but I have a little of everything from scripted tools to a few buildings and a even silly little airplane.  Those things get lost among the clothing, so it would be great to list them in a different department.

That's true, but it puts the burden on the buyer to do that filtering, and I suspect that most shoppers aren't that sophisticated or patient.  My guess is that someone looking for a scripted lamp and finding that is displayed among a bunch of dresses and nightgowns is less likely to look for other household items scattered through the listing.  As it is, LL controls the arrangement of things in my shop and the shopper has to click a filter to sort them. It would be nice if I could list similar items in the same part of my listing, the way I can in an in-world shop, that's all.
