Try a different sim. Sometimes it takes a bit for a rerolled sim to stabilize.

If you were only able to log in once and have been crashing a lot... Check you internet speed/connection. Check you viewer settings (graphics and bandwidth). Start setting your viewer graphics very low and see if that works. If you run SL on an old system you could just not be able to run it on high graphics. 

If you system is up to date and not very old it is likely your connection. Resetting modem, router etc may solve it already.
